Welcome to my Substack!
A brief introduction to who I am for newcomers.
Hello there, my name is John Fassbinder, and I currently serve as the Executive Director of the American Freedom Party National Committee. I was first appointed to the Party’s Board of Directors in 2021 and, the following year, I was entrusted with the role of Executive Director. Since that time, much of my effort has gone into breathing new life into an organization that had, for too long, been stagnant and lacking in direction. My focus has been on restoring order, shaping vision, refining our iconography, and re-establishing the Party as a serious and professional institution worthy of our people.
I first became politically minded as a child, drawn instinctively to the ideas of identity and nationalism. I formally entered organized politics in 2018 through Identity Evropa. There, I began as a general member, but soon took on greater responsibility: first as an interviewer, then Interviewer Coordinator, then Chapter Leader for Connecticut. From there, I oversaw New England as a Regional Director, and eventually the entire North Atlantic region. Alongside these duties, I also served as Social Media Director for both Identity Evropa and its successor, the American Identity Movement. These years gave me the opportunity to refine my skills in recruitment, organization, messaging, and leadership — while also showing me the importance of discipline, professionalism, and ideological clarity.
In 2019, following my decision to self-dox as a member of Identity Evropa, I faced the same pressures and persecution that so many in our cause endure. Yet, rather than abandon the struggle, I pressed forward. I joined the American Freedom Party later that year, became a member of the Board of Directors in 2021, and stepped into my present role in 2022. Since then, I have overseen the Party’s legal restructuring, the renewal of its mission and aesthetics, and its return to the field as a serious political actor.
Over the years I have spoken at events such as American Renaissance in 2021 and our own American Freedom Party National Convention in 2025, as well as given numerous interviews with outlets including Print Revolt, Achtung Amerikaner, and The Political Cesspool. I have also been the subject of attacks and scrutiny from groups like the SPLC, the ADL, and Antifa — recognition that comes, inevitably, to anyone who takes this path seriously.
My vision is straightforward: Reforging America into a future worthy of our people. This is not a matter of simply reclaiming the past, nor of retreating into nostalgia, but of building something greater than has ever existed before — a nation rooted in its founding spirit, but disciplined and prepared for the challenges of survival and renewal. I believe that ideological purity, professionalism, and relentless discipline are essential, and I hold that symbolism and aesthetics — heraldry, seals, order, formality — are not superficial, but vital to legitimacy and authority.
In all of this, I have sought to set an example: not only to serve as a strategist and organizer, but to show my face and use my name when many others would shrink away. I believe leadership requires nothing less.
So here I stand today, directing the operations of the American Freedom Party and continuing the work of building the institutions our future will depend upon. Whatever storms may come, my resolve is simple: to labor without ceasing until our people once again inherit a future that is truly their own.
I Want Your Input
As this Substack develops, I want it to be more than simply a place where I speak and you listen. It ought to serve as a forum — a place where ideas can be tested, sharpened, and guided by the people who take the time to follow this work. With that in mind, I would like to begin with a simple poll.
The question is this: What would you most like to see from me here?
Would you prefer detailed essays on ideology and strategy?
Practical instruction on organization and activism?
Reflections on history and culture?
Or more frequent, shorter commentaries on current events and developments?
I will continue to write on all of these matters in due course, but this first poll will let me know where the greatest interest lies, and where I should place the strongest emphasis.
